May 23, 2009 - Maple Valley to Leavenworth

A trip over Snoqualmie Pass, together with a ga-zillion of our closest friends, all seemingly headed to the Gorge for The Sasquatch Festival - a 3-day, Memorial Day weekend show. The good news...bumper to bumper traffic over the Pass gives us LOTS of people-watching opportunities! Check out some of our fellow travelers...

Going to our first concert at the Gorge! Boy are we psyched!

Taking the extra traffic time to catch up on phone calls.

If we rub his head, will he grant us our wish to be off the Pass?

Say cheese!

Not such a happy guy...hard to see this, but he has a whole Star Trek ensemble in boxes in his backseat. Maybe he just figured out he was headed to the Sasquatch Festival, and not to The Enterprise.

Getting a killer reflection from the mirrored shades.

Bill Gates look-a-like here. Though I doubt Bill would be driving a box truck.

Hope this guy looks around a bit more when he is kayaking.

Gotta love hippies - even if they are too young to remember Woodstock.

No autographs please...says Kenny Chesney.

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

WATCH THE ROAD MAN!

He should've been happy to realize that he wasn't wasting much gas sitting in the Pass traffic.

Checking out all the young guys on their way to the concert.

Guess when you have a trunk the size of a postage stamp, it's reasonable to have to strap your chairs on the outside!

Arrf, arrf, arrf...keep driving sucker...don't stop until I tell you to stop.

Wondering just how many more trees he's gonna have to pass before he can pull off a the next rest area.

Dad got suckered into chaperoning this time.

Usually roller coaster riders are a bit happier at the end of the ride.

Guess she thought she would do a little rain dance on the side of the highway...

This hippie IS old enough to remember Woodstock...

WE FOUND SASQUATCH - who needs the festival!
