April 30, 2010 Maple Valley to Spokane, WA

It's been a long winter, so we were thankful for the opportunities between downpours and hailstorms to get some photos of our fellow travelers along I-90.

Not sure if this was "Peace" or "May the Force Be With You"

Your Star Wars pillow...never leave home without it!

Drivers Ed: Freeway Driving. I'm sure that with all of our speeding up to pace cars, this dad was telling his daughter what NOT to do when driving on a freeway!

What a way to ruin an afternoon.

I'm sure that's EXACTLY what this poor guy was thinking.

Cowgirl Up - at least that's what the window sticker on her truck said.

Happy to see us, no doubt! Although she looks like she could be muttering something derogatory to herself...

That smile may have been frozen on her lips. She was wrapped in a blanket with the sunroof open, so that she could hang onto the rope keeping the kayaks on her roof.

Can't touch this. What is MC Hammer doing on I-90?

Peek a Boo - EYE see you!

This guy was quite Focused!

Testing to see if his window was down?

I don't watch The Office (who has time?), but if I did - I would swear this guy was Rainn Wilson.

Is this Mork? Na-Nu Na-Nu mister!

Road trip is a perfect time for a mother-daughter chat. Captive audience, teenage attitude is optional.

Maybe she's annoyed because everytime she puts on her bikini top - the rain starts to fall.

If you want to keep your truck looking brand new, you should make sure to look forward!

Okay - these guys look like they are straight out of Terminator!

She really was waving, not just trying to block our shot!

At least it was 2 fingers, and not just one!

These two ladies (from Tracy's Scrappin' Barn) gave us the best laugh that we have had since starting this project. We took photos of them, then they turned around and did the same to us! Maybe we've started something!

If you are in the area, please stop by Tracy's Scrappin Barn in Garfield - tell her we say hello!

C'mon are the humongous shades really necessary - I mean, half the time it was raining or hailing, and the other half was overcast.

Breaker Breaker 1-9er - we got some weirdos with a camera comin' at us.

This guy was so happy, he was using 2 hands to wave at us!
Looking forward to the next Road Trip!

Trip coming up...should be some good photo ops...

Apparently, we haven't taken enough road trips lately... but - fear not, (or maybe we should all fear) we are tripping tomorrow to Spokane for Bloomsday. Should be some good opportunities there!

August 9 - Portland to Maple Valley

Just realized that we missed posting these few DriveByPics!

This was a trip south on I-5 to Portland to help our friend celebrate his 40th birthday - yes, Brian, this was for you!

It's a Monster Truck!

I thought texting while driving was illegal in Oregon.

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me sing!

Hello! Watch the road!!!

Peace out dude.

July 10, 2009 - Maple Valley to Elgin, OR

Friday, July 10 - Traveling I-90 to Ellensburg, then headed SE I-82 towards Yakima, we decided to stay with the Interstate - hitting I-84 East eventually to take us into LaGrande, OR. We got off to a fairly early start, on the way to our 4 day weekend in NE Oregon, we weren't too sure of who would be joining us on the road. Imagine our delight at the following...

These guys actually passed us.

It was a day for some serious shades:

Surprised she had enough peripheral vision left to notice us!

Guys' weekend starting early?

Scary dude - wasn't too keen on having his picture taken.

Not sure if he was waving, or trying to block the girl from the shot.

Not sure if he's puckering up or disgusted with us.

This guy needs to clean his windows!

She looked happy for the diversion from the solo drive.

Not just a smile, but an out-the-window wave!

Okay...here's our favorite of favorite pictures thusfar:

This 18-wheel driver, not only was on the hand-held cell phone... BUT

drinking coffee with his "free" hand! WHO WAS STEERING?!

Howdy.

Practicing with the zoom lens - this was on a side road, we were still on the freeway.

Looks a bit like John Cleese bracing for something!

Like mother, like daughter?

If you look closely - you can see the cobwebs on this guy.

Perhaps this guy should give our phone-and-coffee driver a tip about headgear.

Wonder if he's watched the movie RV with Robin Williams.

Nice flames Harley!

Looks like she's on her way to the beach...but headed the wrong direction!

We will let this one speak for itself.

Yes, that does apear to be a rack - though not for the bike.

Yup -he has all 5 fingers on that hand.

Four fingers on this one?

Could be only 3 fingers here!

And we are back to 5 again! Yeah!

The cammo window visors lend a nice touch.

Another cheerful female driver.

If this one had subtitles, he would be singing "on the road again..."

Clearly headed off to a camping vacation, much too clean to be returning!

Hey! You are going the wrong way, the address is Maple Valley!

Clearly, keep your extremities inside the vehicle doesn't apply when a camera is pointed your way!

This guy is an efficient packer. Looks like they are going to have lots to unpack wherever they are going!

Hiya! Can we get an Air Horn?

She made sure to smile and wave, so we could get a good shot.

Hopefully he has cruise control on.

We have been waiting and waiting to see when we get "the finger". We almost got it here...

Refused to look - maybe she was sleeping?!

"Why would someone be taking our pictures?"!

Towing the mother-in-law unit behind.

Happy Trails...

Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear!

Until the next road trip...
